Just outside of Catoosa, Oklahoma on old Route 66 sits a curious roadside attraction, a smiling blue whale. But in a life after people how long can the Blue Whale of Catoosa stand without maintainence?
50 years after people, Time has not been kind to the Blue Whale of Catoosa. The whales blue paint has been chipped away revealing the concrete underneath. The concrete is facing weathering and is cracking while the wooden walkway is rotting. Inside the whale's mouth are some metal rods that hold up the whale's head but after 5 decades of neglect these rods are now rust. Finally the rusted rods fail and the whale's head crumbles and collapses.
