The Eiffel Tower is a wrought-iron lattice tower on the Champ de Mars. It is named after the engineer Gustave Eiffel, whose company designed and built the tower. It was constructed from 1887 to 1889 as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair and was initially criticized by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.[1]

Coverage[]

The Eiffel Tower is featured in the Life After People Documentary in 200 years after people.

The show introduce the maintenance of the Eiffel Tower when its iron was painted once every seven years to protect it from corrosion. The show compared the Eiffel Tower to the Kinzua Bridge in Pennsylvania when it was not maintained and collapsed from a strong wind, Statement from Alan W. Pense also came that when the Eiffel Tower doesn't shield from the corrosive environment, and no maintenance, the Eiffel Tower would fall and collapse.

Thus the fate of the Eiffel Tower reveals that one of the supports corrodes and fails, causing the tower's top to lean and collapse into the Champ de Mars, slicing the height of the Eiffel Tower. Even then, the final fate of the legs of the Eiffel Tower is unknown in Life After People.
