The Newark Liberty International Airport (formerly the Newark International Airport) is an airport between Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey, United States.The Port of New York and New Jersey airports combine to create the largest airport system in the United States, second in the world in terms of passenger traffic, and first in the world in terms of total flight operations. In 2011 Newark Airport handled 33.8 million passengers, JFK International handled 47.8 million, and LaGuardia's just over 24.0 million.It is also the place where United Airlines Flight 93 took off on September 11, 2001.
