Pike Place Market is a fish market in Seattle that has been in operation since August 17, 1907. In a life after people it only takes two days for the fish displayed at Pike Place Market to begin to rot. As the fish decompose they release a chemical called trimethylamine, this chemical attracts animals including cockroaches, dogs, foxes, coyotes, raccoons and rats to come and eat the rotting fish.
