100 years after people, The dykes that control flooding in the Florida Everglades are starting to fail thanks to the Sailfin catfish that make their burrows in the dykes. The catfish were brought to Florida in the 1970’s as pets but they soon became invasive. They dig three foot burrows into the dykes to lay their eggs. Now a century of this burrowing causes the dykes to fail and dry areas become flooded.

200 years after people, The Sailfin catfish is easily thriving there, even though they are preyed on by alligators, Burmese Pythons, aquatic birds, eagles and Raccoons.
